We are getting ready to go into the 4th of July weekend and Uwharrie Books will be celebrating with some shortened hours. On Wednesday June 30 thru Friday July 2 we will only be open 12:00pm - 4:00pm. We will also be closed on Saturday July 3. We will re-open for normal hours on Monday July 5. Please make sure you plan accordingly so you don't get stuck with nothing to read over the holiday.

- Located at 212-2 Main Street East in Locust, NC. Shawn and Jennifer Chappelle started Uwharrie Books in August 2009 on Main St in Locust, NC. The Chappelles live in nearby Midland and are excited to be part of the growth of such a great community. Uwharrie Books offers new and used books, special orders, rare and collectible book service, local art and gifts, and a bakery café with free wifi. We host free community events every month including West Stanly Garden Club with The Weekly Post’s Plant Lady Joyce Lavene and the only book club in the area that allows its members to meet the author of their books – every month!
